Criminal Alert is a personal safety app. This policy explains what the app uses and who can receive it. We do not sell personal information.

Information the app uses

• Your name. It is included in emergency SMS so the person reading the message knows who is reaching out.
• Location. It powers nearby alerts on the map, and it is sent with SOS to the contacts you choose.
• Contacts you add. Family or emergency contacts receive SOS, emergency SMS, and missed check-ins.
• Check-in responses. If you do not respond, the contacts you chose can be notified.
• Photos and voice notes. These are attached only when you choose to report an incident.
• Plan details. Premium and Family unlock a wider alert radius and more SMS. The app stores which plan you are on.

How it is used

That information is used to:

• Show crime alerts on a map around you
• Send one-tap SOS with your location
• Send an emergency text that includes your name
• Run a safety check-in when you do not respond
• Place a fake call on your phone so you can step away
• Submit an incident report with a photo or a voice note
• Apply the radius and SMS allowance for your plan

Who receives it

SOS, your name, your location, and missed check-ins go to the family or emergency contacts you add. They are not published as a public feed. Incident reports are used to operate alerts. We do not sell this information.

The fake call

The fake call is placed on your device so you can leave a situation. It is not a call to emergency services.

Your choices

• You choose the contacts who can receive SOS and check-ins.
• You choose when to send SOS, start a check-in, or file a report.
• You can turn off location access in your phone settings. Map alerts and SOS location will not work without it.
• You can ask us to delete your account and the reports tied to it.
